• This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States.
Travel will likely be required.
• Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform pre-anesthetic screenings, including physical evaluations, patient interviews, and document results.
Develops, recommends, and implements standard operating instructions and practices pertaining to the administration and management of anesthetics that ensure client safety, confidentiality, and timely ethical and quality service.
Select and prescribe post-anesthesia medications or treatments to patients.
Administer post-anesthesia medications or fluids to support patients' cardiovascular systems.
Evaluate patients' post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur.
Monitors the effects of specific anesthesia, drugs, techniques, and patient reactions.
Select, order, or administer pre-anesthetic medications, anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids or blood products as necessary.
Discharge patients from post-anesthesia care.
Perform or evaluate the results of diagnostic tests such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
Manage patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation.
Monitor patients' responses, including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output, using invasive and noninvasive techniques.
Assess patients' medical histories to predict anesthesia response.
Select, prepare, or use equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for the administration of anesthetics.
Calibrate and test anesthesia equipment.
Insert arterial catheters or perform arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood samples.
Insert peripheral or central intravenous catheters.
Instruct staff on topics such as anesthetic techniques, pain management and emergency responses.
Request anesthesia equipment repairs, adjustments, or safety tests.
Maintains continuing education activities.
Comply with all applicable Acuity International standards and guidelines.
Other Duties as assigned.
All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
Qualifications:
Must have completed an accredited Nursing training program leading to a diploma, certification, or bachelor's degree.
Must have completed an accredited Nurse Anesthetist school in the US resulting in a diploma or master's degree.
Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed Nurse Anesthetist.
Must hold and maintain a current unrestricted U.S.
(State) Medical license as a Nurse Anesthetist.
Must hold a current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRBA).
Must have and maintain current certification:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is highly desirable.
All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
