Position Highlights

The Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (AWCIM) has been delivering online education in integrative medicine since 2000. AWCIM delivers education programs and online courses to physicians, allied healthcare practitioners, medical residencies, institutions, and the public via its own web-based learning management platform.

The successful Online Learning Developer candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the transformation of healthcare by training a new generation of health professionals and empowering individuals and communities to optimize health and well being through evidence-based, sustainable, integrative approaches.

This position reports to the Manager of Instructional and Front-end Design and supports online educational efforts of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine by:

Collaborating with faculty and subject matter experts to design and develop online coursework for adult learners.
Supporting the work of the instructional design team by developing and implementing learning activities and assessments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to design and develop online coursework for adult learners.
Promotes accessibility and universal design principles in instructional technology and ensures educational materials, digital resources, and technology tools are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities.
Provides guidance and support to faculty in creating inclusive learning environments.
Supports faculty and instructional staff in integrating technology effectively into teaching and learning.
Support the work of the instructional design team by developing and implementing learning activities and assessments.
Plan, organize and develop curricula, materials and programs to meet specific AWCIM training needs.
Analyze learning needs and partner with integrative medicine subject matter experts to provide input for course content.
Develop new online learning platform features and improve existing.
Designs and develops visually appealing and user-friendly websites and web applications using industry-standard tools and technologies.
Implements design principles to ensure optimal viewing experience across various devices and screen sizes.
Optimize website performance through regular updates, enhancements, and search engine optimization best practices.
Conduct usability tests and gather feedback to improve the user experience of websites.
Maintain updated online content about Center offerings.
Collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop wireframes, and create design mockups.
Use content management systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with brand standards.
Work to ensure course materials are current and relevant.
Create and maintain consistent visual libraries for the Center's online interfaces.
Create and optimize graphics, multimedia elements, and interactive features for web use.
Ensure visual consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all web properties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Knowledge of instructional principles, theories, and concepts, especially for adult learners.
Proficiency with graphics and layout software.
Knowledge of SQL.
Familiarity with integrating cloud-based services in web development.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience with IDEs and version control (Git).
Experience with Microsoft products.
Experience with CMS and LMS.
Experience with Adobe CC.
