Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a systems engineer for the MUOS program, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system. We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system.

Satellite communications knowledge
Ground to Satellite communication knowledge
Ground operations experience
3G/5G communication systems experience
RF signal processing knowlege
Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core networking architectures for telecom

What sets you apart:

Strong cellular telephony background and experience, particularly with coverage and capacity analysis using mathematical models
Experience with ground communication systems for cellular or Satellite Communications
Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools
Stong understanding of telecom core networking
Experience implementing model based systems engineering (MBSE)
Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions
Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success
Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions

Workplace Options:

This position can be fully on-site or three days on-site and two days working from home.
While on-site, you will be a part of the MUOS team located in Scottsdale, AZ

Target salary range:
USD $174,553.60/Yr. - USD $193,645.40/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
