SBC's main campus is in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona. Scottsdale is annually rated among the nation's most desirable communities in which to live, visit, and conduct business. God has faithfully grown SBC from a humble beginning of 13 people in 1962 to more than 6500 meeting weekly on four campuses. As the Human Resources Generalist, you are a vital part of the Team, responsible for carrying on SBC's Vision, Mission, and Values. In this role, you will report to the Human Resources Manager and are responsible for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees to create and support a staff culture that leads people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Coordinate the interview process, including applicant tracking, following up with candidates as appropriate, conducting phone screens, arranging interviews, sending testing, and doing reference checks as necessary
Assist the hiring manager through the hiring process, ensuring communication and clarity around the roles
Process employee new hires and assist new employees with onboarding from start to finish
Coordinate an effective 'first day' of onboarding
Conduct check-ins with new staff and hiring managers at the 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year marks
Maintain HR data including but not limited to employee personnel files (HRC), job descriptions, special reports, Rock Staff Resources page, and staff page on the SBC website
Process all employee changes and terminations
Implement an efficient off-boarding process for existing staff members
Manage system permissions and provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to users for all HR-related systems
Collaborate with HR Manager and Minister of Staff Development to identify system improvements and enhancements and recommend improvements

Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential):

Respond to HR data requests on an ad hoc basis by gathering, analyzing, and reporting relevant data
You will be asked to perform related duties, research or special projects as assigned

Knowledge of:

Hiring and recruiting practices
Employee laws and regulations
Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
Payroll systems
HRIS systems

Education and/or experience:

BA/BS degree in business, human resources or psychology desired
At least 5 years of related HR experience preferred
HR certification preferred

In this position, you will be onsite Monday-Thursday and telecommute on Friday.
