This is the second level in the Service Worker series. The Senior Service Worker, Streets performs more skilled and complex construction, maintenance and repair work in an assigned area of responsibility.
The ideal candidate for the role will have two years of experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work and/or in the operation of light, medium, and heavy equipment relative to the area of assignment. Salary and Hiring Bonus:
This position is a Grade 312 with an annual salary between $47,091 - $70,638.

Regular status position's offer:

• The City of Glendale observes 10. 5 holidays per year, and full-time employees are also granted an additional 12 hours of holiday special leave per calendar year to celebrate their cultural or religious holidays.
• Vacation leave accrues at 5. 33 hours per pay period (138 hours per year), and increases to 6. 12 hours after 5 years, and to 7. 6 hours after 10 years of service.
• Sick leave accrues at 4. 4 hours per pay period (114 hours per year).

• This position participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
• Contribution is mandatory, and the current contribution rate is 12. 27%.

1. Performs skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work, such as electrical wiring, finishing concrete, plumbing or carpentry.
2. Operates various light, medium, heavy and specialized equipment including brush tractors, dump trucks, mowing equipment, truck and trailer, backhoe, crosswalk stripers, street striping truck, swimming pool equipment and high lifts.
3. May work from blueprints or "as-built" drawings.
4. Explains and enforces rules and regulations pertaining to safety, barricading, hazardous material, direction of traffic and operation of equipment.
5. Maintains daily work records and prepares safety reports; may perform computerized data entry work.
6. Notifies the public of work activities and answers questions.
7. Performs maintenance and minor repair on the equipment.
8. Operates city vehicles; depending on area of assignment may operate vehicles which require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

1. Constructs asphalt streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, bus pads, and pedestrian ramps.
2. Maintains, cleans and repairs streets, parking lots, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and handicap ramps.
3. Operates trucks and equipment such as concrete saws, tampers, heaters, milling machines, asphalt pavers, dump trucks, front end loaders and water trucks.
4. Performs pothole repairs, patching, crack sealing, cleaning, street and curb cutting.
5. Sets forms and performs concrete work for structures and flatwork.
6. May use computers to manage data on work projects and programs for management.

• Safely barricade work sites; understand and follow safe working practices
• Determine what equipment, tools, manpower and materials will be needed to complete assigned projects
• Operate light, medium, and heavy equipment; perform maintenance and minor repairs on it
• Complete reports and logs and enter and retrieve computer data
• Operate and understand atmospheric sensing devices (e. g. a thermometer)
• Follow instructions, either in written form or presented orally
• Develop effective working relationships with coworkers, City staff, management, the public and others
• Operate city vehicles; depending on area of assignment, operate vehicles which require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

• This position is classified as safety-sensitive which requires candidates to successfully undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment. They will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment in accordance with the City of Glendale Substance Abuse policy. A post-offer physical assessment is required. The City of Glendale will incur the cost of all required testing.
