Requested Shifts: 11.5 Hour Shifts (DAYS) with thirty minutes up to one hour lunch as conditions permit for day shift and 12.0 Hours Shifts (NIGHTS) with thirty minutes lunch for night shift totaling 7 Shifts/2-week period. May work weekends, holidays, rotating day and night shifts, as scheduled by the SCN based on the unit's needs for coverage.

Job Duties:
A. Contractor shall provide full range of medical-surgical and critical nursing care to patients admitted to Special Care Unit (SCU), accepting patients over the age of 14.
B. Contractor shall exercise knowledge of the nursing process and its application to clinical practice in order to provide individualized, goal-oriented nursing care to the adolescent and adult critical care patients.
C. Contractor shall exercise knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, practices and techniques in order to plan and provide quality nursing care which meets the physical, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the Indian patient.
D. Contractor shall exercise knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness in order to recognize Complications and implement appropriate therapeutic intervention required.
E. Contractor shall exercise knowledge of the medications and dosages in order to recognize their desired effects, side-effects, and complications of their use.
F. Contractor shall analyze the results of various medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.
G. Contractor shall work effectively and harmoniously within the health care team and with Indian patients and their families.
H. Inter-Facility Transports.
I. Provide appropriate documentation regarding care rendered using Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility's (CCHCF) Electronic Health Record (EHR) system or paper documents as appropriate or provided. All documentation by the provider shall be entered electronically using the Electronic Health Record system. The provider is responsible for utilizing the CCHCF EHR system to obtain pertinent patient information in assisting care. It is the responsibility of the provider to use the training resources provided by the CCHCF to develop competency in utilizing the Electronic Health Record system.
J. Follows facility policies and procedures, TJC, (OSHA), Indian Health Services (IHS) and other federal licensing, accreditation and regulating body standards.
K. Provides guidance to other staff regarding clinical decisions. Assist with and ensures unit is in compliance with daily quality checks.
L. Contractor shall make patient unit assignments, specifically deciding assignment in Special Care Unit based on acuity. Contractor shall ensure narcotic inventory, daily checks and logs are completed in a timely manner.
