The Office of University Risk Management is responsible for affirmative control and minimization of risk, promoting a strong proactive loss prevention program, and using aggressive leading edge concepts to insure the safety of students, employees and others as well as protecting the assets and income of each system campus.
Position Summary:
This position supports the Director and campus leaders on items related to continuously improving risk management processes, risk identification, loss control, claims, insurance, and other information related to risk management assistance for two diverse academic and research campuses. CU Denver is an urban research university with educational offerings in engineering, liberal arts, business, and architecture. The CU Denver campus is located in downtown Denver on a shared Auraria campus, serving primarily a commuter and graduate student population with limited student housing. CU Anschutz in Aurora is known internationally as a premier health sciences research, education, healthcare, and patient-serving institution. The Anschutz campus has multiple hospital partners, and the University operates within its governmental authority. Students here are primarily graduate level and above in dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and the school of medicine.
Working within the University's consolidated risk management program, the Associate Director must cooperatively and collaboratively work with many offices and departments within the CU Denver and CU Anschutz campuses, the Auraria Higher Education Center, CU Medicine, Fort Logan, partner hospitals, cities, counties and redevelopment authorities as well as other campuses within the University of Colorado.
