The Consultant - Education Program Support candidate will work primarily with the chairperson, department of Teaching and Learning, to support teacher education candidates in their preparation for their role as teachers of record. The top candidate will deliver workshops that will provide additional and in-depth insights into the reality of the P-6 classroom in addition to support for Praxis II preparation. The candidate will be expected to work at least 30 hours weekly.

Responsibilities:

Conduct workshops/conversations with teacher education candidates to strengthen the expectations and implementation of classroom policies, practices, and expectations. (30%)
Provide workshops and instructional materials to improve teacher education candidate achievement in the development of short-term and long-term plans through enhancing the understanding of various local education agency curriculum. (30%)
Support teacher education candidates in the preparation for the licensure examinations - Praxis CORE, Praxis II (Reading and Content), and PPAT. (30%)
Other duties as necessary to support teacher education candidates. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree in a teacher certification area and MSDE teacher certification;
At least 10 years of teaching and supervisory experience in a public-school setting

Conditions of Employment:
