Summary of Job Duties:
The Cook prepares meals and snacks according to recipes and menus planned by the Nutrition/Health Resource Specialist.Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED PLUS one (1) year of experience in institutional or commercial cooking.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Supervisory experience desirable.
Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
Previous experience working with the children
Must have compassion for and desire to work with children
Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks

Additional Information:

Responsibilities

Prepares meals and snacks for children and staff.
Maintain inventory of food, supplies and equipment.
Maintains a high level of cleanliness in kitchen and storage areas.
Obtain 15 hours of continued job related education/training by attending workshops, continuing educational courses and meetings.
Assists with mealtime in classroom.
Other duties as assigned.
