Full-time Description
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and cost reimbursement principles relating to the home health care industry, in keeping with the goals and objectives of the organization.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Manage all employees of the department, including performance management and hiring.
Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's fiscal function.
Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs.
Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory interaction.
Develop and advise on cost and reimbursement strategies.
Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports to assist the Board President, Board Members, and other senior managers in managing their responsibilities.
Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the agency.
Continually improve the budgeting process by educating department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
Optimize bank and deposit relationships and initiate strategies to enhance cash position.
Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism, including a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Ensure continual improvement of the timeliness and accuracy of the agency's cash flow and management of the billing process.
Evaluate the finance division structure and plan for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, providing growth opportunities for individuals.
Oversee HUD apartment financial duties performed by the Assistant Chief Financial Officer.
Assist in annual audits.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualification Requirements (Education, Knowledge, Experience):
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred.
6-10 years of related experience.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting and reporting policies and procedures in a health system environment.
Ability to proficiently use and perform key functions of MS Office programs.
Ability to travel out of the area and overnight.
Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
