General Purpose of the Job

Quality Assurance (QA) aims to ensure that the product or service UPAL provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including legal (warranty) compliance and customer expectations. The Quality Assistant Manager coordinates in conjunction with Quality Manager, the activities required to meet the quality standards. The Quality Assistant Manager help monitor and advise on the performance of the Quality Management System and assists in producing data and reports on performance, measuring against set indicators. The Quality Assistant Manager, acting directly on behalf of the Quality Manager, coordinates between other departmental managers and staff throughout Unipres to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. The Quality Assistant Manager provides back up training, techniques, and other tools to enable other Departments to achieve their quality targets and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout UPAL.
• Develop QA compliance objectives with QA Manager and ensuring that targets are achievable.
• Assisting in the assessment of product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and

comparing with customer requirements.
• Working with Supplier bases to establish quality requirements and scheduling of supplier QAV to develop supplier base.
• Assisting with product compliance to National and International Standards; including Corporate Governance standards as they relate to quoting and warranty and product components as they relate to ELV requirements.
• Assist in developing clearly defined quality methods for UPAL staff to apply/ follow.
• Assist in developing quality procedures in conjunction with other QA members and UPAL management.
• Assist QA Manager in assuring all TS16949 procedures are met / monitored within the QA department.
• Assessing the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and comparing with customer requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.
• Analyzing relevant quality related training needs and preparing / providing training.
• Analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters.
• Ensuring test and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated / implemented if necessary.
• Developing technical staff in carrying out test and checks.
• Assist in writing technical and management systems reports.
• Working directly with QA Manager in developing comprehensive quality procedures.
• Liaising with customers' in place of QA Manager, and ensuring the execution of Corrective Action and compliance with customer expectations.
• Monitoring performance of product by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
• Report all corrective actions to customer, as required.
• 3A weekly audits of processes, maintain log of nonconformance's and ensure appropriate corrective action from findings.
• Assist New Model Quality documentations (fixture concepts, PFMEA, PQCT, Inspection Data Sheets, etc. ) and ensure documentation is correct.
• Assist HAB New Model requirements for quality including ensuring schedules and activity is completed on time and reports are submitted to customer and examined thoroughly for improvement at next event.
• Monitor Supplier CA's to ensure effectiveness.
• Assist in annual Quality Department budget and operate within its limits.
• Assist in annual Quality Department business plan that relates to overall company plan and ensure QA department operate within the plan.
• Manage and resolve personnel issues within Quality Department.
• Assist in Interview and hire of Quality Department personnel.
• Ensure Continuous Improvement throughout UPAL by training of non-salaried personnel on Situation Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and PDCA.
• Consider Safety, Environmental and Health related issues when assisting with setting up procedures and testing within the QA Department Report any potential risks to the HR Manager and ensure corrective actions are taken immediately to always protect staff at UPAL.
• Conduct annual review of all controlled documents, including the departmental documents to ensure the use and accuracy.

• Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each associate at UPAL.

Index tracking chart (departmental and by occurrence)

Monthly Management Review

High Accuracy Body (HAB) reports for New Model activity.

Continuous Improvement Reports

Overtime reports and summary

Repeat Quality Issue report and countermeasures

Customer Quality concern reports: including root cause and C/M

NMR reports for Quality.

Monthly Unipres Quality reporting

SPC tracking reports (including scanning of NM and MP parts) (Back up)

Training Documents in order to maintain yearly requirements and train associates on new procedures.

Review and understand Cost of Quality documents in order to educate and eliminate issues at UPAL.

Annual departmental staff performance evaluations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position manages all associates of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
