BlueHalo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) within the MDA/GMD Digital Acquisition & Infrastructure Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a software factory initiative, building a DEVSECOPS Environment within the Integrated Digital Data Environment (IDDE). In this role, you will also serve as a system administrator, contributing to tool deployment, infrastructure configuration management, and account management.

You will work closely with diverse stakeholders, including development, security, and operations teams, to streamline infrastructure and deployment management, while ensuring best practices in software development, security, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

DEVSECOPS Advocacy & Collaboration:
- Participate in stakeholder working groups and boards, promoting DEVSECOPS products and practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, operations, and security) to streamline infrastructure management and deployment processes.
- Lead and participate in continuous product delivery cycles within the DEVSECOPS environment.

System Administration & Infrastructure Management:
- Serve as a system administrator for the IDDE, assisting with tool deployment, infrastructure configuration management, and account management.
- Ensure compliance with security guidelines for hardware, software, and firmware configurations (e.g., STIGs and SRGs).
- Evaluate Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables and respond to Task Management Tracker (TMT) action items.

Security & Compliance:
- Monitor security controls, conduct security audits, perform risk analysis, and develop mitigation strategies for DoD information systems.
- Ensure compliance with security technical implementation guides (STIGs) and other security standards.

Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Document software development processes, infrastructure configurations, design specifications, and test plans.
- Embrace Agile and DEVSECOPS workflows while providing technical guidance on best practices.

Travel & Collaboration:
- Travel up to 10% as required to support project needs.
- Work effectively with a collaborative team including Government personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
7+ years of experience working in or supporting DoD systems/programs.
Strong familiarity with DEVSECOPS technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
Experience with at least one of the following:
- Windows Active Directory, Windows Server Administration (GPOs), SCCM, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Familiarity with GitLab for code repository, pipeline management, and/or backlog management.
- Experience with Fortify, SonarQube, or similar tools to ensure code quality and security.
Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) evaluation and implementation.
Active Secret clearance.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent ability to communicate complex technical issues across diverse organizational structures.
