Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Systems Analyst to analyze various data processing problems in science, engineering, and business to implement and enhance computer systems. The ideal candidate will focus on analyzing user requirements, procedures, and challenges to automate or improve existing systems while reviewing computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. This role may also involve analyzing or recommending commercially available software solutions to meet organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to design and improve computer systems.
Evaluate user requirements, workflows, and procedures to identify areas for automation and system enhancements.
Review existing computer system capabilities, workflow processes, and scheduling limitations to recommend improvements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Analyze and evaluate commercially available software solutions and make recommendations for implementation when appropriate.
Develop and maintain documentation related to system specifications, user requirements, and technical procedures.
Work with cross-functional teams to implement changes and improvements to existing systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Conduct testing and validation of system changes to ensure they meet user needs and operational requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Systems Analyst or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of computer systems and data processing.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems and recommend effective solutions.
Experience with process mapping, requirements gathering, and user documentation.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with system development life cycles (SDLC) and methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
Knowledge of programming languages and software development practices is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
