JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a JIRA ADMINSTRATOR in Huntsville, AL .
The JIRA ADMINSTRATOR is responsible for managing and maintaining the Jira software environment within the organization. This role involves configuring Jira workflows, managing permissions, setting up projects, and ensuring smooth operation for users. Jira administrators also handle system upgrades, integrations with other tools (like Confluence or Slack), and ensure data security and integrity .
Responsibilities of a JIRA ADMINSTRATOR includes :

User management :
Creating, updating, and managing users and roles within Jira, setting up permissions and access levels.
Project configuration :
Setting up and customizing Jira projects according to team needs, including issue types, workflows, screens, fields, and dashboards.
System updates and maintenance :
Ensuring Jira is up-to-date with the latest features and security patches, managing backup and recovery processes.
Integrations :
Connecting Jira with other tools such as CI/CD pipelines, reporting tools, or collaboration platforms.
Troubleshooting :
Resolving technical issues, supporting users, and ensuring the platform operates without interruptions.
Job Requirements of a JIRA ADMINSTRATOR:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years proven experience as a Jira Administrator with strong understanding of Jiras configuration, workflows, schemes, and permissions.
Familiarity with Jira add-ons (e.g., Tempo, Zephyr, Script Runner) and integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, and other development tools.
Experience with Agile methodologies and workflows (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
Knowledge of Linux/Windows environments and experience with database management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud and Jira Service Management (preferred but not required).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills :

Experience with scripting languages (Groovy, Python, or Bash) for Jira automation.
Knowledge of CI/CD processes and integration with Jira.
Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator certification is a plus.
