Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three or more (3+) years of hardware/software configuration management experience. In lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in configuration and data management.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and controlling production level system hardware and
  software baselines and associated system level inventories
• Clear written and verbal communications skills

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated experience maintaining and controlling production level system hardware and
  software baselines and associated system level Proficiency in DoD Acquisition and Life-Cycle Management policies and procedures
• Thorough understanding of the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process
• Demonstrated experience in one of more of the following configuration management disciplines:
  • CM Planning
  • Configuration Identification
  • Configuration Control
  • Interface Management
  • Configuration Audits
  • Configuration Status Accounting
• Demonstrated experience developing Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP)
• Experience reading and provide feedback on system drawings and schematics from a configuration perspective
• Experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) plans
• Familiarity with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations)

Description

• Providing CM for development and maintenance programs
• Establishing and maintaining configuration item control procedures
• Receiving and inventorying government configuration items and assigning configuration identification numbers
• Establishing and maintaining configuration item control procedures
• Producing reports indicating status of configuration items and communicating to management
• Assisting developers with assigned configuration items
• Maintaining and reporting the inventory of Government Furnished Property (GFP)
• Defining traceable items and prescribing method of tracking identification including serial or lot control
• Ensuring compliance with all configuration management processes, policies and procedures
• Maintaining status accounting records to ensure that current and historical configuration of products can be accurately determined throughout the product life cycle
• Producing reports indicating status of configuration items and communicate to management
• Reading and providing feedback on system drawings and schematics from a configuration perspective
• Implementing a configuration management system to ensure accurate control and traceability of all prototype and system configuration documentation, physical parts, and software media for all development and modification projects
• Developing and delivering Configuration Management Plans (CMP)
  • The CMP should define, organize, and establish all processes, procedures, and support systems required to implement the following configuration management disciplines: CM Planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Interface Management, Configuration Audits, and Configuration Status Accounting
• Developing, updating, and delivering LCSPs
• Developing and reviewing CM plans, specifications, and procedures
  • Contractor implementation of the Functional Baseline (FBL) and Allocated Baseline (ABL) requirements involves the creation and release of engineering documentation that incrementally defines the configuration of the specific product
• Acting responsible for the configuration control of the developmental configuration and may iteratively design, release, prototype, and test until the functional and allocated requirements are satisfied
• Defining product structure identifying Configuration Items (CI) and configuration documentation
