Position SummaryPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President for Capital Projects, Community Relations, and Workforce Development will assist in setting goals and implementing plans for capital improvements, enhancing community and public relations, promoting workforce development, and ensuring appropriate workforce training opportunities at our college. This position is not tenure eligible. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDUTIES:

Assist in setting goals, providing oversight, and implementing plans for capital improvements.
Oversee development and implementation of strategic planning and assessment of operational performance, including benchmarking against peer and industry standards to ensure continuous improvement in all service areas.
Assist in setting goals, providing oversight, and implementing plans to promote the College and its programs.
Enhance the College's workforce development impact with a focus on high-wage, high-demand skill training.
Prepare and review lease agreements, contracts, Memorandums of Understanding, and Articulation Agreements for the College.
Assist in setting goals, providing oversight, and implementing plans to enhance the safety & security of each campus.
Assist College Deans in developing and meeting division, departmental, and programmatic goals.
Be actively engaged in the College and community activities.
Ensure due diligence and due process in all matters brought to the President.
Build trusting relationships by acting with integrity, courtesy, and confidentiality, even in stressful, contentious situations.
Maintain or increase competency by seeking new knowledge, improving skills, and updating professional competencies.
Ensure compliance with the Alabama Community College System (ACCS), Board of Trustees, and College policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Lead in the development of a climate & culture that promotes and supports innovation and improved services to students, personnel, and the community.
Demonstrate initiative and hold self and others accountable.
Complete projects as assigned and within established timelines.
Perform other duties as assigned by the President.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:

Earned master's degree in education, leadership, administration, or a related field from an accredited institution required.
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution preferred.
Experience in educational leadership and administration required.
Administrative competencies in fiscal management, budget development and coordination, personnel supervision, personnel evaluation, and strategic planning required.
Experience in managing continuous compliance with state licensing/regulatory agencies, specialty accreditation, and/or institutional accreditation, e. g. , Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) required.
Teaching or administrative experience at the two-year college level preferred.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data to inform decisions.
Documented evidence of active engagement in professional, academic, and community activities.
Ability to work well with diverse populations.
Effective interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.
Effective in conflict resolution; team building; and promotion of strong partnerships.
Understanding of and commitment to meeting the needs of students, faculty, and staff.
Commitment to the mission of Alabama Community College Systems (ACCS), and the College.
Effective planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation skills.
Take initiative, understand the work, and accept accountability.
Ability to perform tasks timely using sound judgment and decision making.

SALARY:
Salary Schedule B - $100,936 - $143,669 based on applicable experience.

Salary Calculation: For all positions on all Salary Schedules, the salary amount for the selected applicant is determined by step placement on the applicable schedule. Step placement is dependent upon the following: (a) all work experience in public education in Alabama and (b) all other work experience outside of public education in Alabama that, in the sole judgment of the College, directly relates to the requirements of the position. The applicant selected for the position must provide written verification(s) of this work experience within the time provided herein if such experience is to be considered in determining their initial step place on the Salary Schedule.

Format for Work Experience Verifications: Work experience verifications should be in the form of verification letters from employers and must include complete employment dates, job title(s), job duties, and an indication whether such employment was full-time or part-time, and if part-time, the average number of hours worked each week. The letters should be on official letterhead and contain an authorized personnel signature. The College's official employment verification form is also acceptable and is available upon request.
