Responsibilities
Altec is hiring an Accounting Associate in Birmingham, AL. This position will have a primary focus on Collections for our Accounts Receivable Department.

High volume emails and phone calls
Processing payments for customers
Create and/or review monthly statements for customers
Communication with customers regarding account status
Contact assigned customer accounts to collect delinquent payments and keep accounts current
Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues and answer customer inquiries
Document all customer interactions in accounting system
Assists in monthly closings as needed
Assists with regulatory and tax compliance
All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Collections experience strongly preferred
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
PC skills Office 365 suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work with team members and work with direct supervision
Personal Credit Check and Approval required
