Job Summary

This position is site specific to CMBC. Primary duties of the ARNP include working closely with the CMBC Medical Director and radiologists to assess patients post-biopsy and provide diagnostic information and resources. The nurse practitioner will collaborate with both CMBC and TRA leadership and management in this work. The nurse practitioner works closely with radiologists to communicate findings, and to transition patients to the coordinators or navigators within the respective hospital systems. The nurse practitioner provides patients with a short term follow up plan and resource materials. The nurse practitioner interprets and records results of clinical tests and reports results to patient's primary care physicians. The nurse practitioner implements the overall 'fast track' program at CMBC, including consultation, risk assessment and patient transition to further care.

Pay:

$52. 31 - $70. 94 per hour based on relevant experience, skills, and abilities.

Shift Schedule:

This is a Per Diem position with a variable schedule from 7:30AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday.

To ensure that all women have better access to potentially life-saving mammography services, we look for support from individuals and community partners to help us fund outreach efforts and screening mammograms. You can make a difference by providing the financial support to help pay for mammograms and other breast imaging services for women in less fortunate circumstances.

Essential Job Functions:

In coordination with radiologists, performs biopsy wound checks and consults with breast center patients.

Examines, assesses and offers resources and next steps to patients related to breast health.

Contacts patient's physician to ensure follow up, including additional diagnostic exams or special procedures.

Maintains accurate records as required by law.

Works closely with clinical /biopsy coordinator team to serve patients.

May provide top line breast cancer risk assessment.

Coordinates and implements fast track program, in consultation with Medical Director and CMBC management team.

Assesses need for and implements new programs, ensuring a steady work flow, including post procedure care and consultation.

Coordinates work with CMBC clinical and biopsy coordinators.

Serves as a resource at breast conferences.

Committed to continuous improvement of patient care and delivery.

Demonstrates leadership and professional responsibility.

Promotes the breast center to system owners, physician community and other stakeholders.

As requested, attends CMBC Quality Committee.

Works effectively within CMBC teams; respects and listens to other team members.

Supports patient services and customer service initiatives.

Participates in professional organizations, to ensure professional growth and best practices.

Responsible for identifying areas for self-improvement.

Ensures timely and effective patient consultation.

Maintains confidentiality of records and medical information at all times, according to TRA policies and procedures.

Participates and supports community outreach events, as requested by CMBC management.

Identifies and applies best practices in the programs for transitioning patients to care outside the breast center.

Practices utmost care in communicating with patient providers and observing neutral procedures to avoid setting referral patterns.

Communicates pertinent findings to staff, radiologists and other providers.

Identifies and recommends trends in practice, using data to guide care delivery at CMBC.

Qualifications:

Education/Work Experience:

Master's Degree - Nursing.

3-5 years' experience in women's health preferred.

Oncology background highly desirable.

Current Washington RN licensure.

BLS-C

ARNP-WA State Dept of Health

Current driver's license valid in the state of Washington is required, or other evidence of equivalent mobility.

Job Knowledge/Skills

Assessing, Educating and Examining patients.

Breast Health / Breast Cancer best practices.

General office practices including record keeping, word processing and data entry.

Strong clinical experience with oncology background preferred.

Strong, compassionate interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of patients as well as a diverse clinical team, including physicians, technologists, registrars and others.

Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.

Communicate professionally with other medical facilities, patients, and customers.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and carry out instructions effectively.

Physical Requirements

Work is classified as moderate in physical requirements. Must be able to assist in supporting patients of varying weight. Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Also requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment as necessary.
