Description
The Public Works Water Treatment Division is hiring for the position of Administrative Support IV. This position is essential in supporting the delivery of clean drinking water to the residents of Broomfield.
Total Compensation Package
Salary Range:$28.88-$39.08/hour

Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties
Under minimal supervision and in addition to tasks of Administrative Support III. Performs a variety of complex administrative support tasks in the following areas (listed tasks are illustrative only and is not a comprehensive list of functions and tasks performed in this class):
Complex receptionist/clerical/administrative tasks that may include providing customer assistance and information, data entry, cashiering, bookkeeping
Screens, refers or responds to telephone inquiries and determines most appropriate response to questions and routes calls or customers to appropriate departments
May arrange appointments and greets customers
Maintains files and record systems and may assist in the maintenance of various records such as inventory, activity reports, receipts, memberships, and customer accounts
Demonstrates proficiency with standard office equipment
May operate multi-line phones, printer, copier, and basic computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets
Perform typing, filing-physical and electronic, and copying activities
Relieves a major department/division manager, or other organization official of many administrative details
Must have sufficient knowledge of organization's structure, policies and personnel to make administrative decisions, exercising independent judgment, action and discretion
Acts as liaison between managers and customers
Assists with project work
Performs as sole or lead admin for department/division, including critical, complex or sensitive public contact and/or council/board contact
Acts as departmental information resource and resolves problems independently
May coordinate, direct and review work of department administrative staff as appropriate
May report to department/division head
May be required to work overtime
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience - Four years administrative and/or office management experience.
Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: oral board, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.
