Position classification
Hybrid - Job duties and expectations allow for onsite and remote work scheduled every week. Employees in this classification are regularly scheduled onsite one (1) to four (4) days per week based on the County needs and as determined by Department Director. Hybrid classified roles can be onsite more than the set minimum based on employee preference.

What Success Looks Like In This Job
Design training curriculum to be used throughout the Adams County Workforce & Business Center (ACWBC), and to provide training to assist job seekers, employers, and staff. Responsibilities include instructing employment workshops for all ACWBC customers, conducting general high school-level preparation classes for adults and youth preparing for high school equivalency (HSE) exams, and delivering program-specific training to ACWBC staff.
Examples of Duties for Success
Provide high school equivalency (HSE) training for individuals preparing for HSE exams.
Provide classroom instruction on a wide variety of topics including basic computer programs, Microsoft Office products, writing a targeted résumé, interview skills, labor market research, career assessments, networking, social media, master job applications, and general employment search topics, and update these classes as needed to adapt to changing economic environment.
Provide classroom instruction to both ACWBC customers and staff.
Conduct motivational and/or employment readiness workshops and seminars for customers.
Facilitate workshops and orientations for a variety of ACWBC programs.
Work in collaboration with other Training Coordinators to prepare and distribute the ACWBC workshop/training calendar monthly.
Collaborate with other Training Coordinators to develop clear and concise curricula for basic ACWBC classes, ensuring the curriculum can be easily followed by other employees.
Develop promotional materials for training.
Promote ACWBC programs and educate both staff and customers about their features and benefits.
Instruct job seekers on how to navigate new media websites to locate resources and search for employment opportunities.
Evaluate the skills, abilities, and aptitudes of job seekers.
Develop customized techniques to address the special needs of a diverse population.
Maintain and update program software and licenses.
Maintain state and local databases of classes and participants to ensure accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
Maintain survey data to accurately reflect the success of each class as well as the ACWBC workshop calendar.
Serve as a point of contact for training inventory updates and materials.
Provide training to staff on relevant software and systems pertaining to ACWBC programs.
Maintain training records and track participation for ACWBC staff.
Evaluate and recommend software and/or materials relevant to the region and economy.
Assist other programs when staffing shortages occur.
Participate in organizational improvement work groups.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Success
Experience in teaching, employment counseling, or job search skill instruction.
A minimum of six months experience instructing HSE preparation, tutoring, or teaching.
Experience in using the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with testing administration and curriculum development.
Knowledge of labor market research and employment counseling.
Experience working with or teaching English language learners preferred.
Familiarity with Instructional Systems Design, Learning Experience Design, or Human Centered Design preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
More Qualifications for Success
Five years of full-time experience in teaching, employment counseling, job search skill instruction, or a closely related field is required.
Education and Training:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in Education, Counseling, or a related field may substitute for 2 years of required professional experience.
A Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in Education, Counseling, or a related field may substitute for 4 years of required professional experience.
License and Certifications:
Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license.
Training and/or certification in Instructional Systems Design, Learning Experience Design, or Human Centered Design preferred.
Background Check:Must pass a criminal background check.
