Accounting Administrator I - Lead

Under the general direction of the Administrator II (Ad II), the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Ad II with analysis related to establishing and maintaining accounts, records and procedures for Franchise Tax Board's major funds and for preparation of complex and technical financial reports. Incumbent acts as a Lead for professional accounting staff. Develops and maintains extensive working relationships with Franchise Tax Board (FTB) program managers and control agencies to facilitate accounting policy development. The incumbent will perform highly complex assignments which have multi functional impact.

Separation of Duties: The duties of this position include responsibilities covered by the State Administrative Manual (SAM) Section 7280. To ensure proper separation of duties, you may not be eligible for this position if a family member (husband, wife, brother or sister) works in the Accounting Section.

This position requires the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and may require excess hours to be worked.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
