Summary:
The Accountant maintains and supports the day-to-day accounting functions such as account payable, account receivable, revenue reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of general bookkeeping and clerical accounting duties and responsibilities- expense reports, expense analysis, forecasting
Establishes, maintains, and balances a variety of records, logs, files, and filing systems; verifies, balances, and adjusts accounting records
Use a variety of computer softwares including Sage and MFG/E2
Perform month end close for manufacturing
Processes invoices for payment via check or electronic payment; reissues checks
Prepare daily bank deposits
Reconcile bank accounts, inventory, and credit cards
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger daily to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
Collect delinquent customer invoices
AP Payables communicating with vendors and subcontractors for payments
Assist with audits; filing and remitting sales/use tax
All other duties assigned
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, accounting, or relevant field (preferred)
Experience:
3-5 years of accounting experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel or related software
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Problem solving and organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking
Ability to:
Work independently with little direction
Work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift or move 20 pounds
