Knowledge Management Design Associate

Background

To address complex development challenges in Thailand, UNDP and the Royal Thai Government through the Office of National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) has initiated the Thailand Policy Lab to introduce innovative approaches to policy-making and public service delivery in Thailand. The Thailand Policy Lab aims to design and test policy process prototypes for developing innovative policy options and recommendations and connect and build capacities of various key stakeholders in Thailand to accelerate the impact of innovation in public policy and public services. The Thailand Policy Lab is structured around three pillars:
policy innovation exploration and experimentation, capacity building on policy innovation and community of innovators.

The guiding objectives of the Thailand Policy Lab are as follows:

To foster inclusive and citizen-driven policymaking at national and sub-national levels.
To innovate policymaking processes for tackling contemporary challenges.
To enhance the capacities of the public and private sectors at national and subnational levels to design and implement innovative policies.
To build a multi-level sustainable network of policy innovators.
To promote Thailand as the leading regional hub for policy innovation.

Communication is an integral component of the Thailand Policy Lab's interventions. Thailand Policy Lab employs a data-driven and evidence-based approach to policy prototypes, to promote engagement by stakeholders and to serve as a knowledge platform in disseminating knowledge on policy-related issues and innovation.

UNDP Thailand is looking for a Knowledge Management Design Associate to support the implementation of the activities and the innovation agenda of the Thailand Policy Lab. He/She will report to the Thailand Policy Lab's Communication and Engagement Officer and will work closely with the team of UNDP programme and operation teams in Thailand to ensure the successful acceleration of innovation to improve public policy and services towards the achievement of the SDGs.

The Knowledge Management Design Associate will support and facilitate the coordination and implementation of the following components:

Knowledge Management on Policy Innovation Activities

Conduct content and feedback summaries and learning analysis of workshops and trainings organized under the Thailand Policy Lab's framework;
Support communication activities by writing blogs and/or social media posts of the Thailand Policy Lab's platforms;
Visualize knowledge content on policy innovation (e.g., policy innovation processes, policy innovation tools, etc.) in a creative and digestible format for policymakers and the general public;
Support knowledge management activities by collecting, gathering and/or providing inputs for the Thailand Policy Lab's guidebooks, reports, factsheets, etc.;
Oversee the design of physical communication activities such as exhibitions, events, forums, etc.

Communication Materials

Support in designing and developing communication materials for the Thailand Policy Lab, including but not limited to posters, factsheets, brochures, infographics, articles' covers, etc. for posting on the Thailand Policy Lab's website and social media platforms;
Support in producing visualized data/information related to policy innovation and other social issues;
Support in designing and implementing layout and typesetting for printed and electronic publications of the Thailand Policy Lab and adjust the layout and typesetting of printed and electronic publications in accordance with the Thailand Policy Lab's corporate identity;
Provide consultation on the design and improvement of the design of the Thailand Policy Lab's website and other digital platforms.

Graphic and Animation Design

Support in designing graphics for video materials for the Thailand Policy Lab and support video graphics as needed;
Support in designing and developing animation for contents on policy innovation, social issues or other related issues;
Support in designing graphics for webinars, conferences and online meetings;
Edit photos of the Thailand Policy Lab's events and activities or photos artwork, including the artwork of other graphic materials.

Institutional Arrangement

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Thailand Policy Lab's Communication and Engagement Officer, the Knowledge Management Design Associate will provide support in conducting knowledge management design on policy innovation and supporting in the design of the Thailand Policy Lab's communication materials and social media platforms, ensuring high quality, efficient and effective project delivery.
