Digital & IT is a function within Volvo Energy, where we support our customers' transition to a carbon-free world through great digital solutions and experiences.What you will doIn your role as a BESS System Architect, you will focus on our Energy Management Systems (EMS) that support the complex needs of our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) products in rapidly evolving energy markets.
You will:
Establish connectivity between the BESS units and its connected services, including local and cloud EMS functionality.Architect the environment around our IoT Edge devices, including connected vehicle chargers and sustainable energy generation.Work with market interoperability between energy systems, encompassing standards like IEC 60870-5, 61850, and DNP-3.Ensure reliable and cyber secure connectivity between edge components and the Volvo Energy EMS solution via MQTT/OPC-UA.Collaborate with various international teams to design and build our solutions.Qualifications likely required to be successfulExperience developing embedded systems like IoT edge computers (Linux/ARM based) for communication and control applications.Knowledge in the areas of Energy management systems (EMS) and Supervision and Control systems (e.g., SCADA).Familiarity with protocols like Modbus, MQTT, and OPC-UA.Solid understanding of cyber security, data management, and modern integration technologies.Relevant university education:
electrical engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, Data, Informatics, or equivalent.Experience from Agile development and DevOps practices.Fluency in English, written and spoken.Ready for the next move?
