Head of Communications

Job Purpose
The Head of Communication is responsible for developing and implementing the organization's communication strategy to enhance brand reputation, ensure clear and consistent messaging, and drive engagement with internal and external stakeholders. This role involves overseeing public relations, corporate communications, media relations, and digital communication channels, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision, mission, and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communication Planning
Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives and values.
Establish short- and long-term communication goals, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to maintain relevance and competitiveness.
Corporate and External Communication
Lead the creation of press releases, speeches, articles, and other external communications to ensure a consistent and positive brand image.
Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization, building relationships with media outlets and responding to inquiries.
Oversee crisis communication plans to effectively manage reputation risks and respond to emergencies.
Collaborate with marketing teams to align communication campaigns with brand and business goals.
Internal Communication
Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Create and manage communication platforms, such as newsletters, intranets, and employee engagement campaigns.
Collaborate with HR and leadership to support change management initiatives through effective communication.
Digital and Social Media Communication
Oversee the organization's presence across social media platforms, ensuring consistent and engaging content.
Monitor digital communication trends and leverage technology to enhance stakeholder engagement.
Analyze and report on digital performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of online communication efforts.
Leadership and Team Management
Lead and mentor the communication team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective communication initiatives.
Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on communication opportunities and challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, industry associations, partners, and the community.
Plan and execute stakeholder engagement events, conferences, and activities that align with organizational objectives.
Represent the organization at events and forums, serving as a brand ambassador.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in communication roles, including leadership positions.

Strong understanding of digital communication trends, tools, and analytics.
