Keepit is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to join and lead our growing Engineering Team in Krakow, Poland. This is a crucial hire as we expand our operations in Krakow to support our ambitious growth plans.
As Senior Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for building, scaling, and leading our engineering organization in Krakow, ensuring the timely delivery of innovative products and services that align with our business objectives. You will collaborate closely with the CTO, CPO, VP of Engineering, architects, and other senior leaders to ensure the engineering organization operates efficiently and is positioned for ongoing success and growth.

The Keepit platform has a unique architecture different from any competitor out there and is designed to provide customers with an immutable historical archive of their primary data in systems such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Azure AD/Entra ID, Dynamics 365, and Zendesk. It aims to protect them against everything, starting from ransomware to simple accidents.
Most of our back-end components are written in clean, modern C++ using mainly purpose-built components and STL. Several components that deal with business processes and data mining are built using Common Lisp. Everything runs on Linux.
Backing up billions of objects over foreign APIs using imperfect networks on systems with finite memory and making it all happen in as little time as possible in intelligent ways is no small feat.

Key responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

Stay current with system design and development best practices.
Leverage your technical expertise to monitor team services and applications, using data analysis, customer journeys, and performance metrics.
Empower your team to innovate and align with project goals while maintaining high development standards.

Project Management:

Apply appropriate methodologies and frameworks for efficient and predictable project delivery.
Implement best practices in planning, estimation, and tracking, focusing on metrics like velocity, lead time, and cycle time.
Proactively manage project risks, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure smooth delivery.
Maintain clear, consistent communication with the team and stakeholders.
Oversee department budgets and resource planning.
