Working Hours: 8 to 12 hour shifts in a 24 X 7 schedule

Summary:

As an RF Data Collection Technician I, you will learn to collect cellular network baseline data and file reports back to company HQ. Drive Testers use vehicles in the performance of their duties and use test equipment to collect sensitive cellular network data. RF Data Collection Technician I will work in varying locations and perform various aspects of the job. This job is a good fit for people who:

Essential Functions:

• Learn all aspects of the job quickly and work independently with little supervision.
• Collect propagation and signal measurement data for the analysis of RF performance.
• Measure field data for the base station to identify RF signals frequencies and respective power levels.
• Follow test plans, follow test site scheduling, understand equipment calibration and setup, RF signal measurement and basic data analysis.
• Work independently days or nights to gather relevant RF data, as required by the project.

Other Functions:

• Independently plan routes and manage time required to execute the amount of work that is planned for the project timeline (day/week).
• Quickly learn and retain relevant system knowledge through applied learning, reading of standards documents or other documentation and review of test plan documents.
• Resolve basic computer problems with navigation and data collection software.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of RF theory.
• Extended hours in a vehicle.
• Work on day shift or night shift as needed.
• Overnight hotel stays as needed, on occasion.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 or older.
• Must be based in or near the specified work location.
• Excellent driving record - with at least 2 years driving experience in the US.
• College desired, high school Graduate required.
• Must be willing to learn the TEMS, XCAL or other comprehensive RF data collection tools.
• Must have basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
• Flexible to travel and work aggressive schedules including night shift.
• Must be able to pass standard background check including driving record.
• Good written and verbal English language communication skills.

Pay: $27 - $34 p/h, W2, no benefits. Higher skill sets are eligible for higher pay.

Working Hours: Day and night shift, must work maintenance windows.

Summary: Central Office Installation Technician 4 will perform installation and repair activities on OEM devices and equipment from Cisco, ALU, (Nokia,) and associated power systems. Familiarity will also maintain digital access cross connect systems and work on circuit wiring in Telephone Central Offices and Data Centers. All work will be documented, and technicians will strictly adhere to safety standards. (Familiarity with Ciena OME 6500, and 6500 Reconfigurable Line System (RLS), is highly desired. ) This role is well suited for a Field Technician with 5+ years of Central Office or Data Center installation and maintenance experience.

Hiring Manager Special Interest:

• -48 VDC power experience.
• Install and terminate Cat 6 cables.
• Install and terminate fiber optic cables.

Essential Functions:

• Travel to customer sites as needed to install and commission Ciena OM 6500, and other routers and switches in telephone Central Office or Data Center.
• Perform physical installation including site survey, "rack and stack", cabling, fiber, power and ground.
• Commission newly installed equipment, verify power-up, and support on-site integration, as needed by customer.
• Run new cabling as needed; use existing cable plant when appropriate.
• Install RJ45/RJ48 cables, connectors, optical fibers, perform port testing, labeling and dress all wiring.
• Install PDUs to equipment rack; run power to rack; work with AC and DC power as needed.
• Document work performed per customer standard requirements.

Other Functions:

• Complete all required tests needed to gain access to customer Central Office.
• Read and understand Scope of Work (SOW) and Memorandum of Procedure (MOP).
• Complete all technical reading and study requirements to earn CO access.
• Must be familiar with and be able to comply with standard Central Office protocols.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Work will be performed in a Telephone Central Office or Data Center with cold air conditioning and a moderate background noise environment.
• Must have own standard tools, per tool list; company will provide specialized tools.
• Extensive use of hand tools, wire cutters, pliers, screwdrivers and specialized wiring tools; electronic tablet to track work tasks; some power tools may also be used.
• Adhere to all safety standards around low voltage and high voltage electric power.
• 100% travel, road trips, flights, long and short hotel stays.
• Extensive driving may be required.

Required Education/Experience and Competencies:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be proficient with Ciena OM 6500, Ciena 6500 RLS, installation and commissioning, and integration.
• A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.
• Expert installation skills with low-voltage electric and light gauge wiring used for signaling.
• Proficient with hand tools such as pliers, wire cutters, wire strippers, screwdrivers, etc.
• Familiarity with Nokia 7750 installation and commissioning is highly desired.
• Familiar with C/O entry, safety and work procedures, switch layout, power, ground, and ancillary equipment operation, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Familiar with Service Provider routers from Cisco (CSRx, ASRx, 7600, etc. ) and/or Nokia (ALU 7750, 7705, etc. ) or, other OEM, is helpful.
• Familiar with power tools such as battery-operated drills and electric soldering irons.
• High physical flexibility, including, bending, stooping, laying down, and climbing ladders to reach cross connects.
• Familiar with provisioning orders, wiring and troubleshooting process and procedures.
