Social Media, Community & Content Manager

Reporting to: Digital Marketing Lead (and through to the Chief Growth Officer).

The purpose of this position

To be the custodian of Hunters Element's social presence - curating, growing and nurturing loyalty and community around our brand, through outstanding content strategy, planning, creation, and execution. Reporting to and closely collaborating with the Hunters Element Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for inbound marketing activities, including social media, blogs, EDM flows, loyalty, and influencer activity, and supports the E-commerce Manager's efforts by generating reach and engagement.

Guided by the brand strategy and with support from the Brand Managers, this role leads community management and content marketing through:

  • Management of organic brand social media channels, including content planning & scheduling.
  • Customer engagement, and reporting with a focus on social media and email key performance indicators (KPIs), and providing recommendations for content strategy based on the findings.
  • EDM scheduling and database and segment updating according to audience strategy.
  • Ownership of automated EDM flows and updating our flows when necessary to best execute the brand strategy and goals.
  • Oversight of the pro-teamer and influencer program, ensuring strategic growth in key markets, and influencer contract negotiation in consort with the Brand Managers and Head of Department.
  • Handling community seeding and sponsorship requests, including holding accountability of this budget line and tracking expenditure.
  • Crafting image and video content for social media accounts (supported by the Creative team).
  • Setting and implementing social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies.
  • Moderating community conversations and using appropriate social listening tool(s) for business use and insight.
  • Monitoring and reporting on feedback and online reviews.
  • Organising and participating in events to build community and boost brand awareness.
  • Building relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals and journalists.
  • Staying up to date with digital tech trends, especially organic social.
  • Assisting the E-commerce manager with the execution and roll-out of a customer loyalty program.
  • Tracking, analysing & reporting content performance metrics, and adjusting content planning accordingly.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven work experience as a social media manager and/or community manager.
  • In depth understanding of organic social strategy and execution.
  • Proven ability to craft engaging content, write outstanding copy, and grow online brand communities.
  • Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching and running an ambassador program, creating an event series, building a content plan, and managing EDM flows).
  • Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Hands on experience with social media management for brands.
  • Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics.
  • Broad knowledge of digital marketing and digital marketing channels.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of brand marketing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
