Are you passionate about influencing sustainable development within Porirua City through applying the provisions of the Resource Management Act? This role sits in our Resource Consents & Monitoring Team which has scope to accommodate, develop and reward your level of expertise.
These roles are more than processing and enforcement; we are looking for people who have a positive approach to engaging with stakeholders.
You will need to show us that you:
have a working knowledge of the Resource Management Act and relevant legislation and by-laws
ideally have experience working in roles involving monitoring and enforcement activities
enjoy the challenge of managing and resolving customer complaints while bringing a customer focus to the heart of everything you do
have a passion for creating sustainable solutions and building positive working relationships
have a full unrestricted New Zealand driver's licence
have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, to carry out onsite investigations
You will be doing things such as:
physically monitoring compliance with resource consent conditions, including conducting routine and random inspections onsite
building relationships with local sub-contractors and builders and taking a proactive approach to improve silt and sediment controls
scoping and designing education programs to proactively engage with our development/building community
responding to land use complaints and taking appropriate action where necessary
gathering evidence to enable enforcement action to be taken under the Resource Management Act
