General Manager - People & Community Partnerships

In this role, you will lead the future focused, considered delivery of customer and community services for the organisation.
Actively supporting Council in the realisation of its aspirations for the district, you will provide trusted thought leadership and expertise across the organisation.
You will achieve this through collaboration with Councillors, fellow Executive Leaders, our Enterprise Leaders, iwi/hapu, and district-wide community groups.
As a member of the Executive Team, you will oversee the Community Engagement, Communications, District Customer Relations, Iwi and Co-Governance and People and Culture business units of Council, driving active engagement and inspiring exceptional performance.
We are looking for an individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of people.
You will have well-established, positive relationships across the district and at least six years' experience in Central or Local Government is essential.
You will need to have demonstrated leadership experience at tier 2 level within a comparable function and be a proven, strategic long-term thinker who has a thorough understanding of the relationships between community, business, te ao Māori, and economic development.
