Senior Medical Officer - Respiratory Services Salary:
Base salary from ASMS 2024 (NZD 185,380 - 267,980)

About the role
Joining the team at Dunedin Hospital, you will provide a mixture of inpatient and outpatient services and interface with respiratory labs.
Direct clinical service will normally be based on 10 sessions of nominally 4.0 hours duration between Monday to Friday.
This role will include participation in the after-hours respiratory rosters for weeknights and weekends.
The department of Respiratory Medicine is actively involved in teaching and accredited for postgraduate training by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
We currently have five other respiratory physicians across the district.
On either site, the respiratory service has certified Respiratory Physiologists providing a wide range of diagnostic tests including challenge testing.
About You
You will need to be, or be eligible for, vocational registration as a respiratory physician by the New Zealand Medical Council, including having Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians or an equivalent qualification that enables specialist registration with the MCNZ.
You will also need:

Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly in healthcare settings.

Salary range
This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata).
