Whaitara Health Centre is a rural community hub housing a general practice, allied health support services (podiatrist, chiropractor, radiology and dentist) and access to a wide range of other health and social wellbeing services.
It is one of two general practices owned and operated by Tui Ora, with the other located in New Plymouth, a short 20-minute drive away.
Work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare providers including fellow GPs, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, administrators and kaihapai.
Our practice is equipped with the latest technology and resources, ensuring you have the tools needed to provide high-quality care to whanau.
A holistic kaupapa Maori (Maori approach) primary care organisation, Tui Ora empowers whanau (patients) to set their own health and wellbeing hauora goals and create a pathway to reaching them.
Whanau are supported and empowered by our experienced and multi-disciplinary teams that include a community nursing team made up of long-term health, diabetes, cancer, child and respiratory specialists, mental health and addiction services, social service navigator support, alcohol and drug recovery, and youth services.
Our proven Maori model of care supports positive change for individuals, their families, and the community as a whole.
Our mahi (work) is challenging, fulfilling and can be life changing.
As an organisation, we want our kaimahi (employees) to be at their best.
This means we look after you and put your health and wellbeing first.
If you're keen to work in a fun working environment where your professional growth and development means you are supported to be the best you can be, Tui Ora is the place for you.
