Administration Officer - Maternity Services

Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.About The RoleIn this interesting and busy role your daily administrative tasks will be made up of a variety of tasks that support the arrival of pēpi and also the ongoing care they and their birthing person/people may require within the healthcare system, such as:
Covering reception duties, which includes booking patients in for their birthing process and/or other medical proceduresAdmitting visitors outside of visiting hoursAnswering enquiries from visitors and inpatients, both in person and on the telephoneMaintaining effective electronic and paper filing systemsCo-ordination of Birth NotificationsArranging outpatient clinic appointmentsProviding administrative support to the midwife managers when requiredAs our Service runs 24/7, our administration staff work across a 7-day (Monday - Sunday) roster.
The reception desk will be open from 0800-2030 Monday to Friday and at a weekend from 0800-1630, so the ability to work evening and weekend shifts is essential to be considered for this role.
This roster varies over a two-week rotation depending on the availability of all admin staff.
Penal rates are applied to working the weekends and public holidays.
