Role:
Volunteer Meals on Wheels Driver (Weekdays).Purpose:
Make a meaningful impact in Hamilton City by delivering hot, healthy meals to elderly, ill, and vulnerable individuals, along with a warm smile and a friendly chat to brighten their day.Responsibilities:
Pick up meals from Waikato Hospital using your own vehicle.Deliver meals to recipients, offering a brief, friendly chat at the door.Enjoy the satisfaction of making a difference in your community.Time Commitment:
Most drivers volunteer once a week or every two weeks, with flexible shifts.Start times between 10:
30 AM and 12:
00 PM.Requirements:
A friendly, approachable personality.Access to your own car and a valid driver's license.Training & Support:
Comprehensive training provided to prepare you for the role.Ongoing support from Red Cross staff and volunteers.Onboarding Process:
Typically takes 2-6 weeks, depending on your availability and that of the local coordinator.Police vetting is required; response times can range from a few days to about a month.Health & Safety:
You'll be briefed on our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies during training.Adherence to these procedures is essential while volunteering.Next Steps:
