Ensure the Health New Zealand Southern accesses the maximum amount of funding available to support nurses in their postgraduate clinical and professional practice development.Monitor the postgraduate nursing education programmeOversee postgraduate budgetIn consultation, set postgraduate nursing funding prioritiesCollaborate with the Directors of Nursing and other senior nursing leadersMaintain clear and transparent processes for PDN funding, application priorities, application process, allocation and payment processesSupport Southern Nursing Workforce plan and initiativesSupport and provide cover for the PDRP Coordinator when requiredLiaise with local education providers to ensure programmes meet the regional service needsAbout PDRP:
Support staff to achieve Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirementsIdentify advancements in nursing/midwifery knowledge, relevant trends, and changes in best practice for nurses/midwivesCollaborate with senior nursing/midwifery staff and multidisciplinary teams and support changes to practice when indicatedIdentify relevant education, professional development activitiesAbout us:

Registration with NZ nursing council and a current APCSignificant and recent nursing experienceA personal commitment to ongoing learning and development including attainment and maintenance of PDRP (minimum Proficient)Ideally already a current PDRP AssessorCompetency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settingsWorking for Health New Zealand:
