Mt Hutt has the fastest lift turnaround for race training in New Zealand with our 8-seater chair lift.
Team Hutt is the ski racing programme based at Mt Hutt, Methven, providing race training for age groups of 6 - 19 years, covering the levels of Interfield through to FIS athletes.
We also deliver a wide range of ski racing events across the season at Mt Hutt.
This is a tight team who all share a passion for ski racing and understand what it takes to deliver training, coaching, and events to be proud of.
We are seeking expressions of interest to coach with Team Hutt.
Role Responsibilities Setting up for Team Hutt training, Mt Hutt race events, and lane environments for other race teams training at Mt Hutt.Training of Team Hutt athletes, including course maintenance, video, and timing.About You Be a self-starter and prepared to work in all weather.Be a contributing member in a team situation.Comfortable working in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions.Good knowledge of ski area snow conditions, and be competent to ski in all weather.Be able and capable to carry gear and equipment while on skis - i.e., gates and fencing.Be autonomous and able to use your initiative in the job.Coaching role may require travel to race events outside of Mt Hutt.
This expense is met by the Team Hutt Program.Skills & Qualifications Have a ski teaching qualification.Coaching qualification is a strong advantage.Have a full driver's licence and a clear driving record.As Kaitiaki of the mountains, we have an enduring commitment to our environment, people, and communities to ensure they benefit from our presence.
