As a Transhipment Coordinator - reporting directly to the Transhipment Lead - you'll play a pivotal role in orchestrating the final leg of the journey to the Pacific Islands.As the primary contact for all transhipment bookings, you'll be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring a seamless process and outstanding customer experience.
This exciting opportunity is a 7-month fixed-term contract, covering parental leave.In this role, you'll actively contribute to the day-to-day operations by spearheading initiatives to continuously improve and elevate the customer experience.
Collaboration is key, and you'll work closely with various departments within NPDL and engage with principals to guarantee the smooth and efficient processing of all transhipment services.In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Managing transhipment cargo flows from origin to final destinationManaging relationships with shippers, liaising on pricing, vessel connections and cargo releasesCoordinating and managing bookings, updating rates & manifesting for various tradesManaging transhipment port shuttle moves, customs clearance and local transportSubmitting container equipment moves and pre-alerts detailsEnsuring trade specific timelines are met for documentation in advance of the vessel's arrival dateEnsuring uplift reports are sent as soon as vessel has sailedProcessing all express releases and assisting with export documentationUpdating of all vessel voyage details and uploading vessels into ERPOther duties as requiredQualificationsHere's what you'll bring to the table:
Previous experience in a similar position within shipping/freight (advantageous)Experience with CargoWise desirableTertiary studies in management / business administration with supply chain desirableIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong technical skills and the ability to adapt and learn quicklyIdeal for a candidate with a passion for precision and a knack for streamlining processes, this role demands someone with meticulous attention to detail.
