JR-0000009380 Are you a Pega certified Business Architect? Exciting opportunity to join our Technical Business Analysis team! Help embed our Technology principles within NZTA | Waka Kotahi Work as the Senior Technical BA in the emerging Pega platform within NZTA.
This platform has been built up over the last 2 years and is now ready to be expanded to meet our business objectives.
This is a key role to support the Pega Platform in capturing and articulating the businesses expectations to enable the delivery of the best solutions for New Zealand.

The Technology group implements, supports and maintains digital capability for NZTA | Waka Kotahi, with our teams designing and delivering new digital initiatives that use data and information smartly so we can keep pace with digital change in all areas of the land transport system.
The Senior Technical Business Analyst plays a critical role in aligning technology solutions with valuable business outcomes, due to the breadth and depth of their skills, experience and knowledge they can be assigned more complex strategic initiatives.
Their role involves leveraging significant and specialised expertise in business, IT, and data to analyse needs, document requirements and then translate them into technical artifacts, and then work within their technical teams to deliver these solutions.
They also play a pivotal role in contributing to the Technical Business Analysts Centre of Excellence (COE), providing leadership, defining standards and best practices as well as supporting and training for others.
Ko koe tenei | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring:
7+ years of experience in business analysis and 4+ years in PRPC as LBA with DCO capabilities.
Must be a Pega Certified Business Architect (BA).
Strong and proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role.
Strong understanding of Pega methodologies.
Proficient in Pega government framework.
Strong technical acumen, and deep experience with software development concepts, databases, APIs and system architecture.
Experience in leading the business/product team in gathering requirements and choosing the best way to implement requirements leveraging the Pega system software and DCO capabilities.
Help to document business rules and assist with case type structure from the perspective of the business needs.
Strong analysis and design skills are used to gather and translate complex requirements into technical design artifacts.
Ability to create test plans, write test cases and assist with testing for quality assurance and that the requirements are being met.
Ability to create clear and concise technical documents with great attention to detail.
Adept problem solving in addressing complex functional and technical challenges.
Strong collaboration skills to effectively communicate with business and technical stakeholders including senior leaders.
Solid knowledge and experience in design thinking and co-design methodologies.
Solid experience operating in an agile environment and hybrid ways of working and can perform scrum master duties if required.
Strong and proven experience applying strategic level thinking and delivering large complex initiatives.
Proven track record of effectively leading others, coaching, mentoring and providing support.
Strong negotiation skills to influence quality outcomes across the software development lifecycle with all internal and external stakeholders including senior leadership.
Knowledge and experience in staying updated on industry trends, tools, standards, frameworks, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Tertiary level qualification in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
Must be a Pega Certified Business Architect.
