The Role

As the National Account Manager, you will be at the helm of Applico's national sales strategy, leading a team of Territory Managers and driving key account growth. You will play a pivotal role in expanding Applico's distribution channels, cultivating long-lasting partnerships, and ensuring that our products continue to be the preferred choice for New Zealand homes. Your leadership will be essential in executing strategies that align with our business goals and in creating value for both our partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Profit Growth:
    Lead and support the Territory Managers to drive consistent sales performance across all distribution channels. Develop and implement strategies to improve profitability and grow the business.
  • Strengthening Market Presence:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, expanding Applico's market reach by developing new distribution channels and ensuring existing partnerships are maximized.
  • Strategic Alignment:
    Work closely with internal teams (finance, marketing, product, and demand planning) to ensure sales strategies align with the company's overarching goals and objectives.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Improve forecasting accuracy, manage promotional activities effectively, and streamline operations to enhance efficiency and resource utilization across the business.
  • Leadership & Team Empowerment:
    Re-align and empower your Territory Managers by setting clear KPIs, providing consistent coaching, and ensuring accountability to align their efforts with Applico's broader sales objectives.

You bring a deep understanding of sales strategy, market dynamics, and team management. You are motivated by growth and have a proven track record of driving revenue through relationship-building and developing sales teams.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education:
    Degree-qualified in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience:
    Proven track record of driving sales growth, managing national accounts, and leading field-based sales teams.
  • Skills & Expertise:
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to align sales initiatives with company goals.
  • Deep understanding of sales strategies, market analysis, and promotional planning.
  • Proficiency in tools like Excel, Power BI, or similar for data visualization and reporting.
  • Familiarity with the appliance, retail, or wholesale sectors (highly advantageous).
  • Experience leading teams, setting clear goals, and delivering performance results.
