The Team:

Older Persons Mental Health involves a unique combination of physical and mental health care. We have a statewide service that provides three regional community teams and a statewide inpatient facility in Hobart. The Role:

Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Liaison is a newly created position that will provide high level support to the Team Leader/Nurse Manager with the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) North West, and acts as a consultant to other health professionals, other Statewide Mental Health Services staff, and Agencies in respect to the assessment and management of OPMHS clients.
Duties include:

Leadership, direction and change management with the OPMHS Community Team NW and facilitate the implementation of the Older Persons Service consultation and liaison statewide model of care and relevant service policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Provide clinical expertise and advice to the program Team Leader and relevant senior staff to optimise service operations and strategic development.
Support the Team Leader by assuming a lead role in the oversight of designated clinical processes associated with the optimal operation of the Team, including rostering, crisis response, emergency department presentations, review and discharge, assertive follow up, and general team coordination.
Undertake the line and performance management of a designated group of staff.
Undertake comprehensive assessments, including the use of a range of validated and endorsed tools as appropriate and develop appropriate treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team.
You will need:

Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the clinical activities of a multidisciplinary mental health service with the ability to assist the Team Leader in relation to the effective management of human and physical resources, which also includes the provision of supervision and support to other staff as required.
Proven ability to contribute to quality and safety processes actively and effectively at the individual service level.
Proven high level interpersonal skills including oral and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making, together with the ability to develop comprehensive oral and written reports.
Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
• Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.

Benefits available to eligible candidates:

Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
Desirable criteria:

Holds or is working towards a relevant post graduate qualification.
Current Driver's License.
