The Company

OXBO are delighted to be working with an international Solar & BESS IPP to bring in a someone on a contract basis to look after their impressive portfolio of existing grid connections, and look at the potential of bringing the connection dates forwards for their Solar & BESS Projects.

The Role

Manage Existing Grid Connections:

Oversee and manage the grid connection process for ongoing and future solar and BESS projects. Ensure compliance with all technical, regulatory, and procedural requirements.

Liaise with DNOs and TSOs:

Build and maintain strong working relationships with DNOs and TSOs to facilitate smooth communication and ensure timely connection approvals. Act as the main point of contact for grid-related matters.

Optimise Connection Dates:

Proactively explore opportunities to bring connection dates forward, identifying potential issues and working closely with DNOs and TSOs to expedite connections and reduce project delays.

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:

Identify potential grid connection issues and work collaboratively with internal teams, DNOs, TSOs, and external contractors to resolve them promptly.

Stakeholder Management:

Coordinate with internal project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure alignment of project timelines and grid connection requirements. Provide regular updates on connection progress and any potential risks or delays.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure that all grid connection processes comply with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

Proven experience in managing grid connections, ideally within the renewable energy sector (solar, BESS, wind, etc.).
Strong understanding of the grid connection process, technical requirements, and regulations.
Extensive experience working with DNOs and TSOs, with a clear understanding of their operational processes and timelines.
Ability to negotiate and bring connection dates forward, proactively solving problems and removing bottlenecks.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to grid connections.
A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure and manage complex issues.
