Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs?Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join a large secondary school in Harrow.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team focused on helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both personally and academically.Working closely with Heads of Year and class teachers, you'll play a vital role in supporting students who require additional emotional and social guidance (SEMH).
This position offers ample opportunities for growth and professional development in a school that values its staff.Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with their educationWork collaboratively with Heads of Year, class teachers, and pastoral teams to implement behaviour and well-being strategiesAct as a mentor for students, offering 1:
1 guidance and small group interventionsFoster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive school communityMonitor student progress, documenting interventions and contributing to review meetingsAssist in planning and delivering pastoral initiatives that promote student well-being and resilienceWhat We're Looking For:
Experience working in a pastoral or support role, ideally in a secondary school settingKnowledge of SEMH needs and strategies to support students with emotional and behavioural challengesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staffA proactive, empathetic, and flexible approach to addressing challengesA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenAdditional Information:
