Assistant Accountant

Monday-Friday 8:00am to 17:00
£26,000 - £30,000 per annum D.O.E.
We are working in partnership with a growing business, based in Shrewsbury, who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team. You will be supporting the Finance Manager maintaining the company’s financial operations. This will be a varied accounts role with a particular focus on credit control.
You will be responsible for:
• Banking duties including daily posting of cash receipts and payments.
• Making payments in GBP and forex currencies and reconciling accounts.
• Assist in preparation of financial reports and management accounts.
• Assist with the purchase ledger data entry, ensuring all financial records are kept up to date.
• Responsibility for credit control.
• Processing of employee expenses.
• Assist with any ad-hoc Finance tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will need to have strong communication skills and be comfortable talking to customers on the phone. You will need to have solid bookkeeping experience including credit control.
