DescriptionISP Data EngineerPurpose of RoleLocated in the UK (Office / Hybrid) and reporting to the Group Head of Data Engineering, we are seeking to hire a Data Engineer.
The role will be responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining our cloud data infrastructure.The Data Engineer will work with the other Data Engineer in a newly formed team within the group technology function.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the team and the wider Centralised Insights project team which includes an external data consultancy partner to deliver on our key objectives.In addition, the Data Engineer will be expected to work closely with our enterprise systems owners and functional heads.ISP Data Engineer Key ResponsibilitiesThe Data Engineer will be responsible for owning the following aspects of our data strategy:
Build and maintain our data processing architectureImplement and manage a robust access control modelManagement & provisioning of the cloud data infrastructureDevelopment of cloud-based ELT/ETL processesScope and source new data for ingestionOwnership of the cloud data infrastructure, managing change and enhancementsEnsuring high levels of data security and complianceAdhering to data policies and proceduresSupporting the BI team with any new data requestsSkills, Qualifications and ExperienceExperience with Azure Portal and Databricks is a mustStrong programming languages; SQL, Python, Scala, R.Strong hands-on experience in analysing data on large datasets (Terabytes)Extensive experience in Dimensional data modelling including complex entity relationships and historical data entitiesExperience in building and delivering data marts, data warehouses, data lake and delta lake solutions.Development of data ingestion pipelines and robust ETL frameworks.
Implementation of data cleansing and data quality features in ETL pipelines.Must have strong professional experience of data engineeringExperience in documenting low-level ETL designsBachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent)5 years or more work experience in a similar capacityDemonstrated experience developing and operationalizing complex data projectsISP Leadership CompetenciesYou consistently demonstrate and role-model the ISP Leadership Competencies in all that you do:
