MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Responsible for supporting the Governance and Change Lead with:

  1. Ensuring all documentation related to operational resilience is updated in line with governance and regulatory requirements.
  2. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across MUFG to ensure a collaborative approach to reporting is achieved.
  3. Tracking and reporting deliverables, risks, and issues through the lifecycle.
  4. Facilitating workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive agreement on requirements and delivery.
  5. Understanding complex data mapping projects linking new and established data sources to reporting & dashboarding.
  6. Leading in establishing solutions with stakeholders to any issues raised through various forums, meetings, etc.
  7. Creating PowerPoint presentations for various forums and committees.
  8. Writing minutes on the back of forums and committees.
  9. Ensuring adherence to governance activities.
  10. Data quality gap identification and remediation across the operational resilience data requirements.
  11. Management of change activities that could materially impact an Important Business Service (IBS) or Critical or Important function.

The role will work closely with the Operational Resilience Governance and Change Lead to develop a strong capability in the first line of defence, defining and delivering sustainable and practical solutions for the management of operational resilience, Crisis Management Response, and Business Continuity Management activities.

The role holder will need knowledge of the FCA/PRA Operational Resilience Policy Statements (March 2021), as well as the DORA EU regulations and will gain experience working in a team ultimately responsible for successfully establishing Operational Resilience frameworks and capabilities within the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for supporting the Governance and Change Management Lead on developing, embedding and managing the Operational Resilience framework tools and methodologies in line with regulatory requirements to enable the achievement of MUFG's strategic objectives. Specific responsibilities include:
  1. Supporting all tasks to promote awareness and understanding of Operational Resilience across the firm, supporting communications and training campaigns across all levels.
  2. Building on and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across three lines of defence with key stakeholders.
  3. Establishing and managing the process to monitor the resilience of important business services (IBS's), Critical Important Functions (CIF's) and their supporting resources/critical assets.
  4. Supporting process to assess vulnerabilities, and define and deliver remedial actions.
  5. Participating in establishing and managing the creation of the Regulatory Self-Assessment.
  6. Taking a lead role in coordinating the governance of Operational Resilience.
  7. Supporting One MUFG's delivery in the EMEA region in line with regulatory and Head Office requirements.
WORK EXPERIENCEWork Experience required:
  1. Experience:
    • Working in a governance environment.
    • Understanding of ServiceNow Operational resilience module used in the organisations (preferred).
    • Understanding of JIRA used to track deliverables.
    • Knowledge of working in the fields of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity (preferred).
    • Creating PowerPoint presentations.
  2. Previously employment experience in:
    • the UK Financial sector.
    • UK Regulatory experience in Operational Resilience or Risk Management areas.
  3. Good knowledge and understanding of:
    • UK Regulatory policy statements on Operational resilience and DORA EU regulations.
    • Operational Resilience.
    • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
    • Crisis and Incident Management.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCESkills and knowledge required:
  1. Technical/Functional Skills:
    • Tracking deliverables, risks and issues through the lifecycle.
    • Facilitating workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Maintaining Policies, Framework, Procedure documents and rolling out training to stakeholders.
    • Producing PowerPoint slides for senior management forums and committees.
  2. Communication & influencing skills
    • Advocate for operational resilience and builds strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
    • Ability to build collaborative relationships across the business.
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  3. Management skills
    • Experience in identifying and resolving risks and issues.
    • Knowledge and experience to drive focus on effective and timely delivery of activities.
    • Ability to work with team members to develop solutions to complex problems.
  4. No qualifications required; qualified through experience.
Where required, the role holder will also:
  1. Support the Head of Operational Resilience with the Operational Resilience Committee.
  2. Contribute to the Operational Resilience team's performance.
  3. Support compliance to the operational resilience framework across London (and within the EMEA region).
  4. Identify/escalate appropriate actions to improve the overall reporting for the function.
  5. Build close and continuous relationships with key individuals within the First, Second and Third Lines.
  6. Support and enhance staff training as required.
  7. Provide regular updates on progress under the operational Resilience framework.
  8. Contribute to the operational resilience governance for business activity.
Regulatory compliance, affairs and change:
  1. Comply with the entities' policies and procedures.
  2. Remain up to date with regulatory changes.
