My client is a market leading FinTech business that spun-out of one of the largest and most successful hedge funds in the world.
Their offering is a suite of technology and investment management infrastructure services that they provide to the world's leading hedge funds and asset managers.
Their USP is a cutting edge portfolio management system that provides pre-trade analytics for pricing and risk management, as well as ongoing risk & pnl management across all derivative asset classes.
Further to this they offer a highly sophisticated OEMS, straight through processing and outsourcing for trade support, middle office, valuation control and treasury.

They are looking for a Senior Financial Controller to join a team of 5, working as the second in command to the Finance Director.

What You'll Do

The role will involve joining a team of 5 people responsible for the overall financial management of the business.
Key areas of responsibility will include the sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, fixed asset register, liquidity management, budgeting, financial forecasting, management accounting, financial statement preparation, client profitability analysis, divisional reporting, tax compliance and regulatory reporting.
You will assist the Finance Director with the supervision of junior members of the finance team.
You will manage all day-to-day processes and guarantee all critical work is completed correctly and within timelines.
You will take ownership of preparing the monthly management accounts and year-end reporting.
You will take ownership of preparing the annual financial statements of all group entities.
You will lead the annual audit of group entities.
The role entails working closely with senior executives, vendors, clients and internal partners (including HR, Treasury, Legal, Technology and Compliance).

What You'll Need

Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
Minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience.
The successful candidate is expected to have a strong technical and financial acumen, and to be able to identify risks and support senior management in decision making.
In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping.
Hands-on experience with budgeting and financial risk management.
Proficiency in accounting software.
A strong focus on process optimisation and automation is essential.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience working in a financial markets oriented business is highly beneficial.
