Contek are working with a highly successful sub-contract manufacturing business in Gloucester. Through growth, they are looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join their team.
Within this role you will be producing items using aluminium, mild steel & stainless steel. The ideal candidate for the role will have experience working to specifications and be comfortable reading engineering drawings.
The role is days based and offers an early finish on Fridays - 39 hour day shift week.
Duties include:
• MIG, TIG and ARC Welding.
• Welding of materials including Aluminium and Stainless steels.
• The role will also include some machine operating to fill the role (Welding circa 70% and machining 30% of the working day).
• Welding/Fabricating with maximum diameters of 500mm and 200kgs for other materials.
• Reading and interpreting of Engineering drawings.
• Working within a fast paced environment within a site of 30 members of staff.
• Collaboration with engineering and design teams to provide input on manufacturability and fabrication techniques.
• Adherence to safety protocols and regulations related to projects.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a TIG/MIG welder in a fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in MIG & TIG welding techniques (Some Arc), specifically on stainless steel and Aluminium.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing precise and high-quality welds.
• Knowledge of welding equipment operation and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to meeting project deadlines.
• Relevant welding certifications or qualifications are highly desirable.
