Associate Director - Credit Analyst, Financial Institutions

Job Summary We are currently looking for a Associate Director, Credit Analyst to join our Paris office to work on our Financial Institutions/ Banks and Broker Dealers (BBD) client portfolio.
Our Credit Analysts have extensive knowledge of our risk assessment and portfolio risk management framework which they use to support our Account Managers with credit reviews, ongoing risk monitoring and client creditworthiness.
They also assess Standard Chartered's risk appetite against market and economic conditions across the different markets and asset classes.
About our Banking and Coverage team
Our Banking and Coverage team owns and leads the management and development of our Client Relationships globally.
They work across our global network with product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash and market solutions for our clients.
The solutions include varied products and services, from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives, to mergers and acquisitions advisory.
About Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB)
For more than 170 years we've supported clients with their transaction banking, financial markets, corporate finance and borrowing needs and provide solutions to nearly 20,000 clients in the world's fastest-growing economies and most active trade corridors.
Key Responsibilities Lead credit reviews, analyze and monitor client credit risk, to ensure creditworthiness.
Provide insightful, succinct and timely client portfolio credit analysis with the focus on Financial Institution clients.
Accountable for spreading financials, proposing credit grades aligned to scorecards, documenting client risk and mitigants, and monitoring for credit-material events.
Partner with Banking, Coverage and Risk teams to develop and execute credit analysis, credit origination and monitoring relevant matters.
Deliver client fraud risk assessments to defined standards, documenting residual risks and mitigants.
Provide credit intelligence to identify business opportunities with an acceptable risk profile by supporting Relationship Managers, FI Bankers and Product teams with product solutioning and recommendations.
Provide credit analysis with consideration for market dynamics and client industry, including:

Industry risks and client competitive positioning within the industry.
Client funding strategy, financial policies, treasury activities, including hedging, and cash management.
Analyze client cash flow and liquidity with ratio analysis and/or stress testing balance sheet strength, cash flow and profitability vulnerability.
Reputational risk profile, including climate and sustainability risks.
Skills and Experience • Min 5 years' relevant experience gained either in banking, rating agency, treasury or accounting environment.
• Experience in the credit analysis of Financial Institutions/ Banks and Brokers Dealers (BBD) clients would be preferable.
• Strong analytical ability, focused on the assessment and calibration of credit risk.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to work across cultures and within a dynamic environment.
• Able to hold credible dialogue at all levels of the organisation, as well as with clients.
• Well organized, able to multi-task and balance competing demands.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Fluency in English and French.
Qualifications • Graduates.
• Sound knowledge of accounting and financial principles gained by experience or qualification.
• MBA or CFA qualifications advantageous, but not required.
