DNV's Energy Markets Analytics team is looking for a Senior Consultant and a Consultant specialized in electricity markets.
DNV is undergoing a strong expansion in power price forecasting throughout Europe and is looking to reinforce its current team with headquarters in Madrid.
The candidates will be integrated with a young and high-powered team that has a clear mandate to grow in terms of market coverage and scope of work.
The position will be based in Madrid, Spain.
DNV's power price forecasting activity is structured around a set of internal processes and tools that combine a fundamental approach (dispatch models) with statistical and artificial intelligence methods that aim to understand and replicate the market agents' interaction with the different power and ancillary services markets.
Responsibilities Market Quantitative Analysis :

Track and analyze electricity market trends, expansion plans, and commodities.
Conduct scenario analyses (climate impact, EV adoption, distributed generation, self-consumption) and stay updated on regulatory and technological changes.
Develop timely, rigorous quantitative analyses of power markets.
Prepare automated, insightful reports on Market Entry/Outlook, Ancillary Services, Capacity Market, Curtailment, and BESS.
Contribute to quarterly power price forecasts by assessing inputs, running models, and validating results.
Run BESS financing and other asset studies using ad-hoc tools.
Collaboration :
Partner with the modeling team to structure and solve electricity market problems, delivering integrated solutions for clients' strategic and operational needs.
Client Engagement :
Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
Lead client engagements with a focus on delivering exceptional value and fostering long-term partnerships.

Essential Requirements Degree in Energy/Electrical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline as long as candidates have demonstrated experience in Electricity Markets.
Strong experience (up to 5 years for the consultant and up to 10 years for the senior consultant) in European Electricity Markets, including ancillary services and regulatory frameworks.
Experience in UAE and/or African electricity markets is considered a plus.
Proven track record of leading client engagements, managing projects, and delivering high-quality results within budget and timeline constraints.
Software knowledge in energy system modeling languages like Plexos and in programming languages like Python and SQL is desirable.
Proactive and forthcoming attitude.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Fluency in Spanish and English (both verbal and written).
