We are currently expanding our analytics team and are looking for a talented Data Engineer with a strong focus on data modeling to join us.
This is a unique opportunity to enhance the quantity and quality of our data modeling capabilities. Our focus is on understanding data from its conception rather than just its usage, and we are looking for professionals who can normalize (3NF, 6NF) data models, understand data domains, and design future-proof data representations.
As a Staff Data Engineer at Qonto, you will:

Design and deliver data models in 6th Normal Form, 3rd Normal Form, and star schema.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including Product Managers, Data Producers, Data Scientists (DS), Data Analysts (DA), and other teams within Qonto, to understand business requirements and ensure data models meet these needs and are future-proof.
Mentor and elevate the team's data modeling capabilities.
Contribute to data governance and ensure adherence to best practices in data architecture.

You'll be reporting to Emmanuel Akpan, a transformational leader who creates an environment where team members are empowered to reach their full potential. Through his open-door policy and regular one-on-one meetings, Emmanuel provides personalized guidance while fostering a collaborative atmosphere where innovative ideas are always welcomed.
About You:

Experience:
8 to 10 years in data modeling, with expertise in data architecture, and normalized and denormalized data modeling.
Skills:
Complete mastery of SQL is required, deep understanding of data conception, normalization, and the ability to create future-proof data models. Familiarity with DBT, Airflow, Apache Flink, and Snowflake is a plus.
Mentoring:
You care about growing and mentoring people. The Staff Engineer role requires technical leadership, is inspirational for teammates, and radiates beyond the team.
